We have a Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit computer and when Google Talk started having problems I made a fresh install of Windows 7 and for some months Google Talk worked normal. But then suddenly the same problems here too. We could not anymore sign in in Google Talk; nevertheless we could use the chat plug-in in a browser to send text messages, but also there the program didn’t respond when we tried to make a voice or video request. Then by coincidence I noticed that when I unplugged the webcam and restarted the computer I could sign in in Google Talk and could use it. So, on our computer the cause of the problem is a conflict between the webcam and Google Talk. Our Webcam is a Logitech Webcam Pro 9000. Here or somewhere else someone made the remark that the problem could be the microphone. Therefore I installed another microphone and selected in Google Talk this microphone instead of the microphone of the Logitech webcam. And… it worked! Google Talk gave no problems anymore, even when the webcam was connected. We can now again sign in and use the voice and video chat features.

My boyfriend and I recently tried Google Talk. The problem: I can hear him but he cannot hear me. We can used voice chat in Gmail for a long while now and it works just fine. It also works if he is in Gmail and I am in Google Talk. We both have Realtek Audio, He has Windows 7 64bit and I have Windows XP. Any tips or advice?
