five blogging tipsMany bloggers will start a blog with thoughts of making easy success, they eventually find out that blogging is not just as easy as they thought. They discover that blogging is not all about writing; they will have to work hard and harder just to make sure they get traffic and traction. When things are not going as they expected, they eventually quit. Why? They are not efficient enough.

I am not just going to tell you what is impossible, I have written over 120 guest posts this year and over 40 in May alone, I write three times a week on my blog, I write for my list, I read and comment on many other blogs in my niche (all at the same time). I know what I am saying.

Below are 5 great tips to increase your blogging efficiency.

1. Concentration

Concentration is one of the major factors to increasing your blogging efficiency. You are writing, you are also watching a movie, how do you expect to have a focused mind while writing and watching TV at the same time. One has to go for the other. You might even go to the extent of having a room office where you will only have your computer, a chair and stationery. Concentration is a very important ingredient many bloggers fail to utilize. You should be in a concentrated environment and only focus on one thing – Blogging!

2. Have a Plan

Having a plan helps you reduce stress while increasing your efficiency, instead of trying to remember all you have to do or wasting your time trying to do them all without order, you can instead have a plan of what you will do for the whole day e.g. first thing: reply to comments, second: Make a post, third: Write guest posts. This type of plan helps you do things faster because you already know what to do next.

For a better plan you may choose your writing among 25 basic styles of blogging.

3. Focus only on one then the other

If you are planning to massively promote your blog, you can write a week’s post and schedule it ahead of time so that even if you have any problem or face writers block or any other problem that will not make you provide value on your blog the post will still go live. When you have written a week’s post, you will now be able to focus on guest blogging only, you can then move on to blog commenting and other traffic generation strategies – this gives you the best result because you are focused on only one thing.

4. Don’t Play with Ideas

Many bloggers just let ideas go off like that. Ideas are not what can just be toiled with like that; there will be times when you will look for ideas without getting them. Try as much a possible to write down ideas as you get them. I have a notebook where I write down ideas when they come, I might not make use of the ideas now but when I am in need of a post idea, I will go back to my idea book to use those I already get.

5. Tracking

This simple factor is very important. Imagine promoting your blog without having a stats program to track your success, Is that not wasting your time? You should be able to track everything so that you will be able to use your time effectively and not just keep doing something that is not working.

Many bloggers fail because they don’t track their success. If I made a comment, it brought me 2 visitors in one week while a guest post brought me 10 visitors in one day, do you still expect me to stick to blog commenting? I will better spend my time writing guest posts. Tracking your results help you get better results because you know which one works and which one does not.

Efficiency in blogging is one important thing that should not be overlooked by bloggers; imagine having the ability to do what you would normally do in days in 2 hours. The above are 5 great tips to improve your blogging efficiency.

Another great post Onibalusi. You are the King of Guest Posting. You are right about the points mentioned here. Planning, Tracking and concentration are quite important in blogging. By the way guest posting seems to be a lethal way of traffic pulling :)

Thanks Onibalusi for this post :) all the points which you have mentioned here are important. I believe that concentration is very important as you cannot do two things at a time.

All the points that you have mentioned are spot on. Having a plan and keeping the focus is very important. And about the ideas, I also do the same thing. whenever something comes to my mind about a blog post, I try to write it down as soon as possible.
